Project Details

I chose the repeat this project from last year (2020 Post) because of how successful it was! Students were introduced to the Elements of Art Line, Shape, and Space in this project. Students had learned how to draw complex shapes in a previous project, Observational Drawing. During this project, students were introduced to the art of Zentangle and saw how lines were used to create beautiful and detailed works.

After discussing positive and negative space, students used Zentangle designs to fill in their shape. Students painted the background using watercolor or acrylic paint. Students who completed their project early were given the option to color in their Zentangle designs.
