Art 1 – Zentangle Silhouettes (2020)

Project Details

Students were introduced to the Elements of Art Line, Shape, and Space in this project. Students had learned about the element of Line in a previous project, Line Compositions. Students were introduced to the art of Zentangle and saw how lines were used to create beautiful and detailed works.

Students then learned how to draw complex shapes using the blocking-in drawing technique. After discussing positive and negative space, students used Zentangle designs to fill in their shape. Students painted the background using watercolor or acrylic paint. Students who completed their project early were given the option to color in their Zentangle designs.

Due to the nature of the 2020-2021 school year, some students completed this project at home. Connected Learners were instructed to create their project using materials they had available.
