EDUCATION

I graduated from the University of North Texas summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design and a minor in Marketing in 2017. I received training for my teaching certification through Texas Woman’s University’s Post-Bachelor Initial Teacher Certification program, completing it in the spring of 2020. I am certified to teach all-level art through the Texas Education Agency.

During my undergraduate career, I was part of many student organizations, completed hundreds of hours of community service, and explored research in the application of color theory in pediatric healthcare design. I continue to enjoy this research as well as learning about other interior design and psychological theories.

TRADITIONAL ART SKILLS

My strengths in traditional art are drawing and using various 2D media. I enjoy creating detailed drawings using colored pencil, graphite, charcoal, and ink. I have recently discovered a love for fiber art and jewelry making, working on weaving projects and creating handmade pieces.

I also have experience using many 2D and 3D meidums:

2D: charcoal, chalk pastel, conte crayon, acrylic paint, watercolor paint, oil paint, mixed-media, collage.

3D: paper sculptures, cardboard sculptures, ceramics, fiber arts.

INTERIOR DESIGN

I was an intern for Keaton Interiors in the Spring of 2016. Upon the completion of my internship, I was hired part-time as a design assistant. After graduating in the spring of 2017, I began working full-time as an Architectural Associate for the Keaton team. I worked with Keaton Interiors through December 2019, leaving to complete my clinical student teaching with Denton ISD.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

My strengths include 3D-modeling through Sketchup, rendering with SU Podium, technical and construction documents in AutoCAD, and organization. I am proficient in Adobe Photoshop and InDesign. I am also quick to pick up on new software and can often teach myself computer programs.
