Middle School | Art 1 (6 & 7 Grade)

Project Details

For their summative work in Art 1, students are tasked with creating a mixed-media artwork. Students create an artwork showing off the skills they have learned throughout the year as well as showing off something about themselves.

Students are required to use at least four different materials in their work, pulling from the media they have learned how to use in the year. Students are also encouraged to use the techniques and skills they have learned throughout the year such as color blending, shading, pattern making, and collage. Many students use ideas from past projects in their works including “fractured” painting, Zentangles, and neurographic art.
