Art 2 – Multi-Style Artworks

Middle School | Art 2 (7-8 Grade)

Elements/ Principles: Movement, Repetition

Focus: Styles of Art

Project Details

Students were introduced to the three main styles of art: representational, abstract, and non-representational.

Students created artworks using all three styles in one piece. Students picked a landscape, portrait, or object to draw as the subject of their work. Then, students divided their project and picked which style would go in each section.

Students had a harder time grasping the difference between non-objective art and abstract. The concept was retaught and students were shown different ways to change their work to be non-objective.
