Art 2 – Cardboard Story Sculptures

Middle School | Art 2 (7-8 Grade)

Elements/ Principles: Shape, Form

Focus: Narrative Art

Project Details

Students learned about Narrative Art and how artists use their work to tell stories. As a review of the elements of art shape and form, students planned a relief sculpture made of cardboard. After designing their sculpture through sketches, students began creating the individual pieces for their sculpture. Students gessoed their pieces once they were done, then painted or colored their pieces to match their story.
